Transistor:it s a three terminal device which is used in
amplification process whereas diodes can be used in
rectifiers for conversion of ac to dc source.
Diode is a two terminal device,with no amplification taking
inside only act as a switch with low speed while transistor
can be used for high speed switching transients.....
Also diode has low area barrier and where transistor has high barrier.
