whats the difference between diode and transistor

Answer Posted / chandra shekhar godiwal

Transistor:it s a three terminal device which is used in
amplification process whereas diodes can be used in
rectifiers for conversion of ac to dc source.

Diode is a two terminal device, with no amplification taking
inside only act as a switch with low speed while transistor
can be used for high speed switching transients.....

Also diode has low area barrier and where transistor has high barrier.
