What is the
effect of
impedance on the
heat losses in
case of AC
system??? Does
heat losses
really depends
on the impedance
or depends only
on resistive
component
only..??
Answer Posted / nithi
Heat losses occur in resistance (real component) only ,not
in reactance(imaginary component).but heat losses depend on
the value of current flowing through the circuit (i.e.
I2).Meanwhile,current is decided by the impedance value
(reactance & resistance ). So,ultimately heat loss depends
on the impedance not only on resistance.
