Substation is a combination of switch yard and control
room.switch yard is a place where HT equipments (from 66-
765kV) such as EHV current transformers, CVTs,
CBs,isolators, power transformers etc are erected.
There is no existence of only switchyard any where i.e
swithc yard become meaning less without control room.
