While packing some return gifts, a mother decides to put
some toffees in each gift packet. If she keeps 5 toffees in
each packet, she is left with none. But if she keeps 2, 3 or
4 toffees in a packet, she is left with 1 toffee . What is
the minimum number of toffees that she needs?
Answer Posted / amandeep narula
simple a paji
minimum no of toffees req is 25
now how come
if u hve 25 toffees
then if u put 5 toffees in each packet then u r left wid
none(does not matter how many packets r there,in this case 5
packets)
now if u put 4 then u r left wid one(means 4 toffess in 6
packets i.e 24 nd left wid one)
now if 3 then 8*3 24 stll left wid one
now if 2 then 12*2 24 still wid one
now if u hve 20 toffess then u can put 4 toffees in 5
packets and left wid none
so 25 is the only no satisfy all condiatios
