what happen when ac motor is connected with dc current
Answer Posted / vikas tomar(from s.d.e.c. ghaz
The AC motor will not run when it is supplied by dc.
beacause as we know by the principle of electromagnetic induction that the emf will induse only when the flux changes w.r.t. time (i.e. when flux is alternating)e=d#/dt.Hence when dc is given, the flux produced would not be alternating,so no emf indused,no torque production,no motor revolution.
