What are the differences and respective advantages to
electrophoresis, SDS PAGE, and isoelectric focusing?
Answer Posted / surbhi
SDS PAGE is widely used method for analysing protein
mixtures qualitatively.it is particularly useful for
monitoring protein purification on the basis of their size.
isoelectric focusing method is ideal for separtion of
amphoteric ssubstances such as proteins because it is based
on the separation of molecules according to their different
isoelectric points.
