why d.c. supply is given to the primary side of generator?
Answer Posted / austin kpoto
Derived from a closed loop system from alternator, when
exciter rotate rectifer induce dc voltage. Exciter diode
convert dc current from diode to rotor main armuture to
produce magnetic field to the primary side of the
alternator.Poles turns produce minus and plus sign from
main armature than alternator send dc current to AVR.
