it's the stree that result to from contect of two member
.The equation to determine average bearing stress would be
sigma b.s = P/A where P is the force applied to the member,
and A is the contact area of the object resisting the force.
The SI unit for bearing stress is Newton/meter2 which
equates to Pascals (Pa).
