How to measure a disease?

Answer Posted / zauva

All plants are suffering from a diseases, either in the
initial stage or later parts of its life cycle.
If the plant is suffering from the diseases in the early
growth stage, surely it will be very serious in later and
will affect the growth and yield severely if not controlled.
If the incidence of the diseases is in the later stage and
if it is well manage the reduction in yield would be reduced.

The crop is said to be healthy unless the yield and its
physiological function are not disturbed even if the disease
is prevelent.

But the plant is suffering from a desease when the plant
could not give the yield upto the level of its genetic
potential.

the severity of the diseses could be measured by the numbers
of leaves infected, percentage of the disease in the leaves
and in the sten. colour changes, etc.
