As the name suggest STT is levied on transactions involving
securities.Securities transaction tax is levied both at the
time of purchsae and sell of securities.it is to be paid
only in case transaction is made through recognised stock
exchange ie. if transaction is not made through recognised
stock exchange no stt is to be paid.
If share trading is your business then it shall be allowed
as an expense for the purpose of calculating your profit or
loss from share trading and if u r not a trader but an
investor that no such deduction shall be allowed at the
time of calculating your short or long term capital gain,
as the case may be,
