In some countries it is found that an Earthing Transformer
is connected at the LV sides of the Transmission and
Distribution Substation Transformers.Actually what is the
purpose the Earthing Transformer?

in this transformer is delta connected secondary so there
is no provision for earth fault protection so they are
using earthing transformer for earth fault protection.
another purpose it will reduce the inrush current it is
zigzag nature so its reluctance is more than ordinary
transformer so it is like that
