when working as a motor it collects the current from brush and gives to armature slots.when working as a generator it works as a rectifier.it collects the current from armature and gives to brush in one direction.i.e.current flow is in ine direction.

I have a small system with two motors that are running on 380 vac, 60 hz. These motors are expensive and I usally get them from Brazil.
