why we use RYB phase sequence? and somewhere we use UVW ?
why?
Answer Posted / ramesh.e
In 3 phase ac systems, as the name depicts, there has to be
3 phases and these 3 phases are named as RYB according to
some international standards. Practically when we see the
three phases we will not be able to distinguish between the
3 phases & so they r coloured Red, Yellow & Blue to help us
identify the required phase.
A RYB transmission line shouldnot be connected to any other
phase sequence like YRB or BRY etc, it has to be connected
with another RYB only otherwise a large circulating current
will flow because of different impedances of different
phases.
