why we measure water in liters and oil in kgs?

But, 1 Kg of Oil is not equal to 1 Ltr of it. My point is..
we can measure water in both units and both means the same
amount of water. It's just a matter of preference..
Try reading about Specific Gravity of fluids.. which
determine their mass distribution...
