The transformer classification is based on -
(a) Construction (B) As per Load distribution (C)Cooling
&insulation
(a) Construction-
(i) Core Type
(ii)Shell type
(b) As per Load-
(i) Distribution X-mer(below 33KV)
(ii) Power Transformer (above 33Kv)
(c) Cooling-
(i) Air Natural Cooled (Dry Type)
(ii) Oil cooled
(iii) Water cooled
(iv) Coolant Cool(SF6) etc.
There are also a special type of X- mer used in Elect.
industry named as AUTO TRANSFORMER.in this x-mer we will
done primary & Secondary winding on the same which ensure
the saving of conductor material.

Hello everyone, somebody knows what is a "surplice power" ? The hole phrase is: "This rating is appropriate for a generator set paralleled with an infinite bus e.g. a national electrical supply network or grid where the generator set is run at 100% load, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and any surplice power is exported into the grid" Thanks in advance.
