WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RESISANTANCE AND IMPEDANCE
IF IMPEDANCE IS MORE THAN RESISTANCE AT SAME VOLTAGE CAN WE
HAVE RELATION DERIEVED BETWEEN THEM
Answer Posted / chandan
Resistance is the real part of Impedance,i.e. Z=R+jX.
Where R is resistance while Z is Impedance & X is Reactance.
The mod of Impedance is always greater than the value of
resistance.Since all these quantities are in phasor form
that means current through Resistance flows with zero time
difference while current through reactance flows with either
20/4=5 ms lead or lag if supply frequency is 50 hz.lead or
lag values depends on capacitance or inductance.
Active and reactive value are independent from each other. So
at the same voltage impedance willbe more than resistance by
Modulus. But if we see by phasor it may be greater or smaller
as the X value we will use.
