what will happen when a electric bulb is connected between
two phases.it will glow or not
Answer Posted / ramendra shukla
In India the supply voltage is 440 V,50 Hz. for 3 phase.
and normally we will get 220 V at single phase with neutral
& 420V with Phase to Phase.
if our Bulb is rated for 240 V and we are suppling 2 phase
420 V to it then due to high potential the bulb element
will not capable to bear the high current & it will get
fused.
Canclusion:- when bulb will connect between two phase it
will glow for very short time (in Nano Sec.)&get fused due
to high potential.
