The definition of the ping is
Communication between two different machines on a same
layer level is called ping.

and communication mean that when you say hello to someone
and if it reply you then it is called communication.
when you type ping 192.168.0.1 in cmd it will give you this

Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 192.168.0.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 192.168.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

as you see that with that command you sent 4packets(data)to
192.168.0.1 and it reply you and you also received 4 packets
it mean that you say 4 time hello and you got reply 4 times
mean that the communication is in its absolute level.
