why D.C excitation is given to sunchronous motor?

Answer Posted / m.shafiq

We know that sychronics motor is rotate on synchronics speed and its speed is constant with frequency.
we now stater produce the rotating magnetic field it is required that the rotor is couple with the rotating magnetic pols of stater. For this purpose we give D.C supply to rotor field to produce constant magnetic pols on rotor which locks with static magnetic pols to rotate the rotor with synchronics speed.
