On Monday a banker processed a batch of cheques, on Tuesday
she processed three times as many, and on Wednesday she
processed 4000 cheques. In the three days, she processed
16000 cheques. How many did she process on Tuesday?

Answer Posted / guest

Ans. 9000
Let on monday she processed x cheques then on tuesday she
processed 3x cheques.
So, total is
x + 3x + 4000 = 16000
4x = 16000-4000
4x = 12000
x = 3000
therefore on monday she processed 3000 cheques.
On tuesday she processed 3*3000=9000 cheques.
