The Main difference between the catogeries is as per the
usage of the user account.
e.g: CAT(related) - that type is used for the users who
are just the timesheet entry or expense users.
others belong to the developer, professional who much much
other activities.
As for the comany they need to segregrate the users as per
the usage of the transction code or the Job profiles they
belong to.
