what is smoke testing & sanity tasting?
Answer Posted / sravan reddy
'Sanity testing' is a type of testing in which one will
perform "Overall Testing" on the released build in order to
confirm whether the released build is proper or not for
conducting the "Detailed Testing". Usually they check
following during this type of checking,
1. Whether the build is properly installed into the
environment or not.
2. Whether one can navigate through all the parts of the
application or not.
3. Whether all the important features features are available
or not.
4. Whether the required connections or properly established
or not.
'Smoke testing' is also same as Sanity testing, but the
difference is, in some companies before releasing the build
developers will do the "Overall Testing" in order to confirm
whether the build is proper or not, i.e 'smoke testing'.
After releasing the build test engineers will perform the
"Overall testing" is called 'Sanity Testing'.
