Yes the above discussion is right.In case of resistive
loads, current have a liear relationship with voltage.As u
know in case of transmission lines if u have to increase
the power,u have to increase the voltage. When voltage is
decreased,current decreases by the relation P=(I^2)R.Hence
the current capacity og transmission line conductors
decreases which is economical for power handling capacity.
