How electrical power(MW)is varied OF an A.C Generator in
response to varying steam input to a steam turbine ?
Answer Posted / hareesh
The stator of the generator (after synchronization with grid)
is having a rotating emf and the rotor is having its own
magnetic field. If we increase the steam input, the angle
between the stator emf & rotor magnetic field (called load
angle)will also increase due to the additional torque given to
the rotor by the turbine. In that case the power (MW) will
increase. similarly if we reduce the steam input, the load
angle will reduce and the MW will also reduce.
