Investopedia Says: A central bank adjusts the supply of
currency within national borders by adjusting the bank
rate. When the central bank reduces the bank rate, it
increases the attractiveness for commercial banks to
borrow, thus increasing the money supply. When the central
bank increases the bank rate, it decreases the
attractiveness for commercial banks to borrow, consequently
decreasing the money supply.

Saving bank rate:- 3.5%
Deposit Rate - 6.00% - 7.50%

hey guys i attended my interview on 29th April in a delhi zone.They were asking so simple question that i was surprised. I preapred day and night for the interview collecting all the question from this link and other site as well as from GS book but they simply asked 1) tell us about ur family 2) about u 3) Why u want to join banking and not IT . 4) Advantages and disadvantages of computer. 5) Where is hawamahal. 6) about pink city 7) who discovered electron. 8) who invented telephone. that's all I think it was just waste of time preparing banking related questions.
pls answer the below mentioned questions as soon as possible ... this is for clerical interview SBI * what are the business undertaken by a bank ? *present share value of SBI?? *max and min share values of SBI??? *what is liquidity ?? *what is excise duty?? *challenges which banks have to face in future ???

4 months gone sbi not declaring the results even though they gonna increase the vacancies still some information regarding results should be posted on their site what the hell is this largest public sector bank doing????????
