How will you convert a 6 Normal solution to 8 Normal
solution?

Answer Posted / innie

answers #1 and #3 are correct:
it IS possible to convert a lower concentration to a higher
concentration, but you would have to scale up.

for example, if you have 1000 mL of 6N HCl, and you want to
make 1500 mL 8N HCl, you would follow this equation...

(1000 x 6) + 12x = 1500(8)
so 6000 + 12x = 12000
so 12x = 6000, and x = 500

so, add 500 mL 12N HCl to 1 liter 6N HCl to get 1.5 L 8N
HCl.
