what will happen ac motor give to dc supply
Answer Posted / sehgal
AC motor works on the principle of induction..
The windings in the ac machine are wound either is delta or
star wound. ( ac machine windings )
Only if there is a rotating magnetic field we have an emf
being induced and hence the current.
So only when these current carrying conductors are placed in
the magnetic field, there is a torque!
So if we give a dc supply.. no emf hence no current and
hence no motion! Its in stand still position!
