RTGS is 'Real Time Gross Settlement'. It is a means through which the funds can be transfered from one bank to another bank within few minutes. In this the amount of transfer should be more than Rs. 1,00,000. The transfer below Rs. 1,00,000 is known as NEFT- 'National Electronic Fund Transfer'. RTGS is carried out through RTGS Code which should be of 11 digits and the other banks account number. Its is basically used to make quick payment to parties as the transfer takes hardly few minutes.
