kw=kvacos(phi)... so larger the value of pf, smaller is the
amount of kva required for supplying active power... for
example if we require 8kw power output and pf is0.8 kva req
is 10.. but if pf is 0.5 kva req is 16... also for
transfering a const power if pf is low,... then value of
current will be high , so cu loss increases so does the
size of conductor..

why we have to particulary use ACB for below ratings,even available of MCB,MCCB with that range ?
i have a 4 Mva transformer 34.5 kv / 480-277 v and i used 2 parallel 3200 amp bus duct for the secondary feeder using 3 ply of bus bar ( 3/8" x 5" ) as a common where the flexible link terminated and 6300 amps breaker for the main, the lower bus duct reaches 70 degrees and the upper bus duct reaches 55 degrees when i used thermal scanner. why the temperature is not balance when the load reaches 3600 amps.
if we have a industrial load of 400 kilowatts with 415 volt AC then how much total harmonic distortion (thd%) should be acceptable for steady power system.
