How to calculate the cable size in sq. mm. when the load is
given in KW?

Answer Posted / joy banerjee (joysbag@gmail.co

Calculate the Load current by KW = 1.733xVxIx CosQ

Where
- V = Voltage
- I = Current
- CosQ= Power Factor

After getting the Current we can select the cable from the
cable manufacturer's chart or by selecting the current
density(D) and using the formula

Current density = I / A

where
- I = Currrent in Amps
- A = Cross section area in sqmm
