WHAT IS SEMICONDUCTOR? EXPLAIN DETAIL. FOR EXAMPLE TAKE A
PENCIL.THE LEAD IS MADE UP OF GRAPHITE IT IS A
CONDUCTOR.THE OUTER COVER IS MADE UP OF WOOD IT IS
INSULATOR.PENCIL IS A SEMICODUCTOR MATERIAL.

Semiconductor is more like an insulator since they both
have a bandgap. The only difference is the bandgap of
semiconductor is smaller than an insulator. At low
temperature, intrinsic(undoped) semiconductor is an
insulator. A semiconduct's resistivity decrease with
increasing temperature, while a metal's resitivity increase
with increasing temperature.
