yes it surely does
actually capacitor bank feeds the inductive load with the
a part of kvar which it takes from the main power suply
line.hence it reduces the power demanded by the main line
in other words the inductive lags the power factor and the
capacitive loads improves it by suupling the the certain
amount of kvar
