His total cost is just 240. so how can his profit be in
thousands ??

Calculation goes like this

a 100*3/10 12 comes by total of 3 4 5 propotions
b 80*4/10
c 60*5/10

hence a 25 b 26.67 c 25

So, total cost for the mixture for him will be 76.67
and he sells at 50 percent profit hence total price will be
115.01.

whether bills of exchnge can come under the category of reserves and surplus
