Power factor is the factor by which real power differ from
the apparent power.That is why it is called power factor.Real
power can NEVER BE GREATER than the apparant power.Since the
apparent power remains fixed,it is the power factor, which
decides the amount of real power calulation in the network.
That is why power factor is so much of importance in electrical
engineering.
Real power=(power factor)*(apparant power)
W = (pf) * (VA)
