When we will do Retesting? Only after Bug fixation? Is there
any other case?

when a Test Engineer finds a defect and it is fixed as a
defect by the defect tracking team then, the build would be
sent to the developer and after fixing the bug without
disturbing the functionality the latest version of build is
released to the test engineer.
then the test engineer will check the defected area only
since no functionality is disturbed. This is called
Retesting.
If the functionality is cahnged while fixing the bug then
we have to go for Regrussion Testing.
Above definition is for regression testing not re-testing.
Retesting is nothing, but testing the build with multiple
sets of values again and again to test wheather the
application is working fine. Please refer some meterial or
if u have real time experience then only give the answer
because dont confuse the juniors who are at the learning
stage.
And there are some other confusions also regarding methods
of testing and types of testing. Types of testing
regression, retesting, alpha beta ect will fall under this
and methodology is V-methodology, spiral, etc will fall
under this.
So dont be confused and try to search the queries in
google. The tip is to search is whatever your doubt is
simply put in words in google home page and search. You
will find so many answers.
Sorry if I made someone hurt.
