How calculate the Transformer Impedence With Example
Answer Posted / viswakumar
% impedance is the voltage required to circulte full load
current in both HV and LV windings when the terminals of
the LV winding is shorted. This is just the SC test done
in the college lab.
For example if 5 % of 11KV circultes full load current in
the both 11KV side and 415 V side of a 11KV/415 volt
transformer then the % impedance of the transformer is 5%

FOR 16/20 MVA 132/33 KV ONAN/ONAF TYPE TRANSFORMER IT IS DESIGNED FOR 16 MVA WITH ONAN CONDITION.IT BECOMES 20 MVA UNDER ONAF CONDITION.LOAD LOSS IS GUARANTEED FOR 65KW AT 20 MVA AND % IMPEDANCE 13.75. PLEASE TELL US AT WHAT LOAD LOSS AND % IMPEDANCE IT SHOULD BE DESIGNED FOR 16 MVA AND WHAT WILL BE ITS EFFICIENCY AT 20 MVA?
