If power factor became 1 then no reactive power is
required for load.
It means generating source would have to supply only real
power requirement of load.So less rated generator can be
used for feeding such load.
Also due to zero flow of reactive power,sending end voltage
is equal to receiving end(load)voltage.That is there will
no any voltage drop at the load end.
In such cases line loss is only due to real power
flow,which was otherwise(In case of non unity power factor)
due to flow of both real and reactive powers.Naturally
there will be reduced(non zero) line losses in case of
unity power factor.
