of course; at least assuming you are running on a real
environment such as unix that supports separate users to
install and run under.
With winblows you'll have to be carefull about environment
and path variables, but again even there using separate
users to login should address that issue
obviously you CANNOT mix-n-match the external binaries with
a different tools internals that are stored and executed
from the database...unless you like doing restores
