How the data is coming from 3rd party system to SAP System?

From 3rd party system the data can come in various forms
into SAP system.
It can be done through webmethods in which the Idocs can be
in XML format or even by the 3rd Party tools like Gentran
etc.
To connect to an external system i.e a non-SAP system we
use the connection type T called TCP/IP connection.
