What makes the difference between 50Hz supply and 60Hz
supply which one is economical and how can you support your
answer...........?

Answer Posted / mahavir jagdev

220, 50 HZ was used by the British and India too followed it just like in Europe. The Americans being different as usual chose 110v 60 HZ for domestic supply. The 110 v was for safety from getting a shock, but the 60 HZ equipment will have more eddy current losses but for 3 phase the synchronous speed of the motors will be higher.
