Ferranti Effect says that voltage at the receiving end is
higher than that at the sending end. How is it possible?
Answer Posted / sunil guru
the series capacitors are connected at the receiving side in parallel with the load.during light load conditions reactive power leads back the active power and also due to the effect of charging current the receiving end voltage is high than sending end voltage so is called ferranti effect
