generator is a machine which converts mechanical energy to
electrical it is having only iron and cu losses. and the
rating of generator is also given in KVA.
motor is the machine which converts electrical energy to
mechanical in its output there are many loses like
frictional losses, rotational losses, Power losses,
Magnetic core losses,windage losses, and Stray load losses.
including the above losses occur in generator. and the load
here is resistive the rating of the motor is given in KW.
since efficiency is the ratio of o/p to i/p
i/p is o/p - losses
since the losses in motor are more the efficiency is less
in motor compared to generator
