Why 50hz and 60hz frequencies are used by the world, why
they are not taking 55hz?
Answer Posted / saa
RPM of Prime mover is related with Electrical frequency.
Some countries use 50 HZ with 1500 Rpm for 4 pole
Some countries use 60 Hz with 1800 Rpm for 4 pole
for 55 Hz 4 pole RPM of Prime mover will be 1650
Some countries use 50 HZ with 1000 Rpm for 6 pole
Some countries use 60 Hz with 1200 Rpm for 6 pole
for 55 Hz 6 pole RPM of Prime mover will be 1100
Itz just matter of Choice.
