How many layers are there in OSI ? Why is it called OSI model ?
Answer Posted / murali
OSI model consists of seven layers i.e.
7.application layer
6.presentation layer
5.session layer
4.transport layer
3.network layer
2.data-link layer
1.physical layer
The OSI are not standardized clearly all layers are not
standardizied by one.
In early days TCP/IP is used mostly. When OSI is developed
there is no interest shown to try a new one. That is why it
is called as a model.
