what is the difference between electrical engineering and
electronic engineering.

The study of devices which has higher power which means
large voltage and large current are called as electrical
engineering usually the devices which has large current and
voltage theirby large power are called as electrical
devices.(i.e. high power devices)
The study of devices which has low power rating which means
low voltage and low current are called as electronic
engineering usually the devices which has low current and
voltage rating theirby dissipating low power are called as
electronic devices(i.e. low power devices). That is why,
Eventhough the SCR's are made up of semiconductors they are
used to drive and control electrical motors and generators
so we study the SCR and its family devices under a chapter
called as power electronics and this device rating will be
in terms of larger units like ampere, watts, MW,etc and
that is why the branch of power electronics comes under the
faculty of EEE in all colleges and universities, they
differ from BJT , FET, etc. which usually delivers very low
power in terms of milliwatts
