why only 11kv level is used for transmission purpose? why
not 230v?

if voltage increase current decrease.in this way if we use
high voltage for transmission flow current can be reduced so
cable size and current loss can also be reduced.

in my industry we are using 3 step up transformers for induction heaters..i.e 415/580v and other are 11/440v.in power consumption does a step trnsformer makes any difference compared to step up?? plz explain
