What is different between Vendor and Company person?

both are same in terms of sales. but when we talk about
role and responsibilities,vendor is only responsible for his
margin, but company person have lots of role like product
launch,to solve product complain,to provide batter service
to channel partners etc. and his responsibilities are, to
take care of profit for his company, market hygiene,
resolves claims of channel partners etc.
