there are different types of capacitive transducers, in
which parallel plate capacitive transducer is one. it
depends on the formula "capacitance=dielctric
constant*area/distance b/w the plates." as distance b/w
plate decreases capacitance increases and vice versa... this
technique is used in many measurements like flow, level,
temperature....
