AS Preti has mentioned. A resistor is a two terminal
device. It come in many different forms in electronins it
can be coulor coded or be white ceramic housing with the
wattage and resistance rating written on the wheras in the
domestic use of it it can be called heating elements in
element heaters, water heaters, even the light bulb.
Resistance on the otherhand is the ability the component
has to restrict current flow for e.g a hot water heater of
3kW that operate at 230V will pass current of 13.04Amps
because it has a resistance of R=17.638ohms.The SI-unit for
noting resistance is ohms.
