Dr. Jagannathan Srinivasaraghavan (Dr. Van), a psychiatrist
settled in USA planted an Indian national flag at the North
Pole on 23 April 1985. He was on a expedition organized by
Society Expeditions, three months after his visit to
Antarctica. The flg was given to Dr. Van by the Indian
Consulate in Chicago. In the same trip he also landed at
the Magnetic North Pole on 26 April 1985. He has numerous
slides and besides his North Pole trip was reported in
several Indian newspapers based in USA. Please visit

passenger Bob Antol lists all the details as well as a
picture with Dr. Van holding the tri-colour at the North
